What a weapon crate can hold
A weapon crate holds one of four contraband guns or nothing. KOTLK's community Trello puts the split at 10% for a gun and 90% empty. The current Miraheze weapon pages give each gun 2.5%, which adds up to the same 10%. Neither is an official drop table.
| Gun | Type | Mag / reserve | Body / head damage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tursk R-12 ‘Breakstorm’ | Revolver | 5 / 25 | 155 / 620 |
| SHC-23 | Pump-action 4-gauge carbine | 4 / 30 | 50 / 77 per pellet |
| AK-74 | Assault rifle | 30 / 210 | 43 / 138 |
| AEN-50 | Short-barreled .50 rifle | 18 / 18 | 350 / 525 |
- Tursk R-12 ‘Breakstorm’: Bash an enemy at 80 HP or less for an execution that restores 20 HP. Loads one round at a time, giving it the slowest reload of any sidearm (10.2 seconds).
- SHC-23: Four pellets that set targets on fire, up to 640 burn damage when all four hit. The pellets arc downward, so aim higher at range.
- AK-74: Auto or semi. By far the largest ammo reserve of the four, at the cost of recoil and a 4.3-second reload.
- AEN-50: Pierces up to three enemies and ignores Shielder shields. Recoil is heavy; Miraheze suggests semi-auto to control it.
Stats are community measurements from the Trello and Miraheze and can change with balance updates. The AEN-50 once held 5 rounds with 10 in reserve; pages quoting those numbers are out of date.
Chimera ignores two of them. Headshots from the R-12 and the AEN-50 deal no damage to Chimera and trigger his dodge, according to the Trello. Miraheze's AEN-50 page agrees for that gun. Aim for the body or switch weapons for that fight.
Where the crates are
Weapon crates are in Sector 3 and its subsectors. The Trello says they are scattered around the sector, with more of them the deeper you go. It no longer gives a count or a location list: an earlier version listed eight crates with screenshots and was replaced in August 2026. We don't publish a crate map for the same reason.
Getting deeper into Sector 3 is part of the main objective. The Trello describes four Rasonian stashes that you blow up with C4; destroying all four unlocks the keycard door to the deeper sections. The facility route guide covers the way to the Sector 3 gate.
For a visual pass, Ching901's September 16, 2026 video walks through every crate the creator could find. We link it as a companion and have not checked each location in it.
What 2.5% means over a run
If every crate rolls independently at the published rates, this is how the odds build up. It is our arithmetic, not a measured sample.
| Crates opened | At least one contraband gun | One specific gun |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 41% | 12% |
| 10 | 65% | 22% |
| 20 | 88% | 40% |
| 40 | 99% | 64% |
On average that is one contraband gun every 10 crates and one particular gun every 40. Duplicates don't help with a full set, so seeing all four takes longer: about 83 crates on average, with even odds by crate 74 and 90% odds by crate 145.
¹ What the rate does not tell you. No source we checked says how quickly an opened crate refills or whether it rolls again. Fandom's badge notes describe OVEREQUIPPED as three to five hours of camping crates; treat that as one editor's estimate.
Badges for each gun
Three guns have their own badge. The official descriptions still use older weapon names: the R-12 was the RSH-12 and the SHC-23 is based on the KS-23. Both community sources match those badges to the current guns. The AEN-50 has no badge of its own and counts only toward OVEREQUIPPED.
| Badge | Official description | Crate gun | Awarded² |
|---|---|---|---|
| REQUIEM | Obtain the RSH-12 | Tursk R-12 ‘Breakstorm’ | 209,910 |
| RASONIAN_STEEL | Obtain the KS23 | SHC-23 | 210,698 |
| ESCAPE_FROM_ITAGURA | Obtain the AK74 | AK-74 | 171,625 |
| OVEREQUIPPED | Having all contraband weapons on you | All four at once | 35,791 |
² Total awards reported by the official Roblox badge API on September 24, 2026.
The Trello says to pick the gun up and equip it. If a badge doesn't appear on pickup, equip the gun before assuming the award failed.
Do you need them for Night Stalker?
The official EXOTIC-EXONERATION description excludes only FULL-HOUSE, OVEREQUIPPED and LAST-RITES-OF-A-RUINED-KING, which on its face would include the three gun badges. KOTLK's Trello says REQUIEM, RASONIAN_STEEL and ESCAPE_FROM_ITAGURA are not required either. The highlighted badges in Manhattan's codex are what count for your account; the Night Stalker guide explains how to check them.
OVEREQUIPPED: carry all four at once
The official description awards the badge for having all contraband weapons on you and names them: Tursk R-12 'Breakstorm', SHC-23, AK-74 and AEN-50. Miraheze's badge list adds in one life, so guns collected across several lives do not add up. Plan as if a death costs you everything you are carrying.
While you hold the full set, your character wears a large backpack. The Trello says it disappears if you die or rejoin; Fandom also calls it temporary. The badge's official name is written with round brackets, ("OVEREQUIPPED"), where most Examination badges use square ones.
- Protect the set. The longer the hunt runs, the more a single death costs. Clear an area before you open its crates.
- Refill as you go. Ammo crates refill every weapon you carry, according to the Trello. The R-12 and AEN-50 each have only 30 to 36 rounds in total.
- Fill gaps from Antonio. His quests are a second community-documented source of contraband guns; see the next section.
OVEREQUIPPED is not needed for Yuri's challenge: the official EXOTIC-EXONERATION wording excludes it by name.
A second source: Antonio’s quests
Antonio De La Cruz is in the class selection room. The Trello lists five quest types: collect samples from two of three marked barrels, kill 15 infected, kill 8 infected and find a marked item, find two marked items, or execute three enemies. You can ask him for a different quest without penalty.
The Trello says each completed quest rewards one contraband weapon. Fandom's badge notes say the reward varies and give an AK-74 as one example. Neither source says whether you choose the gun or whether a gun from Antonio awards REQUIEM, RASONIAN_STEEL or ESCAPE_FROM_ITAGURA. An earlier version of the Trello card described the gun as lasting one life.
Two official badges track his work: THE_GRUNT for completing one of Antonio's quests and ESPRIT_DE_CORPS for completing five. Both were created on September 12, 2026.
Crates that are not weapon crates
Sector 3 has several other boxes and piles to interact with. Older pages sometimes say "weapon caches", which blurs the loot crates with the C4 objective.
- C4 crates
- Hand out C4 for the Rasonian stashes. The Trello lists four, and each can be used any number of times.
- Rasonian stashes
- Piles of Rasonian equipment that you destroy with C4. They are an objective, not loot; Fandom's Sector 3 walkthrough calls them caches.
- Ammo crates
- Refill the ammunition in all your weapons.
- Emergency crates
- Glass cases in Sector 3. Shoot the glass to take an axe.
- AT-7 crates
- In the Cerberus (BTR) arena. According to the Trello, they open only during the boss fight.
